RECOGNITION OF TALENT
It has been the privilege of the Uttarakhand Club to recognise the students, artists and personalities who have proved their skill in various fields. The Club has also the honour to explore some hidden treasure of Uttarakhand who have been explored and proved their excellence in many fields. It is a matter of pride for the Uttarakhand Club to come forward and encourage these students, artists and personalities from other fields. Some of the examples are
1. Meritorious Students
Every year, the Uttarakhand Club is awarding five meritorious students each from Secondary and Senior Secondary Examinations who score more than 85 per cent in the annual examination . These students are financially awarded in the annual function of the Club every year.During this year, these students were awarded in the Annual Function of the Club held on 4th May, 2008 at Siri Fort Auditorium by Hon'ble Minister of Land Reforms & Revenue, Government of Uttarakhand, Shri Diwakar Bhatt.
2. Talent Hunt - Melodious Voice of Uttarakhand
The Uttarakhand Club has the privilege to explore the new talented singer of Uttarakhand. During the year 2006, the Club organised a competition of upcoming Uttarakhandi singers known as 'Uttarakhand Idol'. In this event, singers not only from Delhi but from far flung areas of Uttarakhand also participated and demonstrated their talent. Km. Lata Tiwari of Nainital and Km. Ritu Parvatiya of Delhi won and stood first in the competition. These singers are now demonstrating their skill in Bollywood.
3. General Knowledge Competition
The Club has been organising General Knowledge Competition for children every year and awarding the winners in its Annual Function. During this year in April, 2008, South Delhi Branch of Uttarakhand Club has organised a General Knowledge Competition for children. During this year, the theme of the Competition was based on 'Uttarakhand' and all the questions were based on Uttarakhand. The winners were also awarded on 4th May, 2008 during the Annual Function of the Club.
4. Recognition to the people of excellence
The Uttarakhand Club has always been admiring the people who are devoted to pereserve the cultural heritage of the Uttarakhand. The Uttarakhand is a State where the flora and fauna and environment are regarded as the areas of priority. The Club honour the people who worked hard to preserve the rich heritage of the State.
